Heavy overnight rain has flooded the paddock and with heavy forecasted snow due tomorrow the organisers have had to make the very tough decision to cancel the event tomorrow. HIMX really sorry about this.

‘A TRIBUTE TO GEORGES JOBÉ’
“HIMX have decided to make this year’s event a tribute to Georges Jobé.
As soon as the death of motocross legend Georges Jobé was announced, people were contacting us by phone and email asking us to do something in his honour. Many remember Jobé for the spectacular double jump he did over André Malherbe at the 500cc GP at Hawkstone Park in 1984, and have been asking us to re-create the double jump and naming it the ‘Jobé Jump’. We do like the idea, but we have to consider safety, as well as the fact that a young rider had a fatal accident in that area in 2005, so we also need to take his family’s feelings into account.

Despite the snowy weather the preparations for the 2013 Hawk International are fully underway and some of the best riders in the World and the UK have signed up to ride including MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings and MX2 runner-up Brit Tommy Searle.

Downhill Mountain Bike Champion Danny Hart Competing at Hawk International

Danny Hart is a World Downhill Mountain Bike Champion and enjoys anything on two-wheels. He rides for the Giant Factory race team, but in his spare time he practices and races his RM-Z250. Week-on-week top riders from the World Championship scene and British Championship scene are signing up for the 2013 Hawk International on the 10th February at one of the most historic motocross tracks in the UK, Hawkstone Park.

Top Brits in for the Hawk International – 10th Feb
The Hawk International is really beginning to take shape now and with less than six weeks to go some of the top British riders have signed up to race the first major meeting of the year. Held at the fantastic Hawkstone Park venue on Sunday 10th February it will be a great start to the 2013 season.
