Pauls Jonass confirmed as first rider for Hawkstone International 2027
Having just put the 2026 motocross season to bed, the Ashbrook Hawkstone International, powered by Syntol Lubricants is already rolling out the names for the 2027 line up, starting with former MX2 World Champion Pauls Jonass announced as the first confirmed rider for the 2027 event which takes place at Hawkstone Park, near Shrewsbury, on Sunday, February 21st, 2027.
The Latvian star will start his third season with the factory Kawasaki Racing Team (KRT) in the MX1 class at Hawkstone. He’ll take on the famous Hawkstone sand on his KX450SR before the MXGP campaign gets under way a week later.
Since winning the MX2 world title in 2017, Jonass has been one of the sport’s most exciting riders. He is fast, aggressive and will definitely be one to watch when the gate drops at the season opener.
Hawkstone International is the first outdoor motocross meeting of the year on the British calendar. It has long been where Grand Prix teams test new bikes, new set-ups and new signings before the world championship begins. More rider announcements will follow in the coming weeks.
